The Discursive Representation of the Actions of Women and Men: Leadership from the perspective of Sociodiscursive Interactionism

This paper aims to characterize the discursive representation of the actions of women in leadership positions, showing, on the one hand, how they are implicated in the texts they produce and, on the other hand, the extent to which their actions can configure an (effective/specific) attitude of leadership. Based on the hypothesis that there are different forms of implication, which result in different models of leadership discursively constructed, and based on the notions of types of discourse and figures of action proposed by Sociodiscursive Interactionism, the contribution of linguistic/discursive materiality to rethinking the issues of gender (in)visibility is evidenced, and Pintasilgo’s thought is theoretically supported – women and men speak differently.
